Program Description
Kieser University's Associate of Science degree in Sports Medicine and Fitness Technology centers around entry-level health and fitness assessment, prescription and lifestyle modification. The program provides a basic foundation of knowledge about health risk factors, physiological acclimatization to exercise, injury prevention, care and therapies as well as touches upon all components of activity as related to sports and exercise.
Program Objectives
The following objectives were created unite Kieser University's mission with its objectives.
- To nurture the student's ability to apply health and fitness assessments in the development, monitoring and motivation of individuals with exercise prescriptions
- To ready the students to suitably conduct and monitor exercise sessions
- To aid students in understanding health risk factors, physiological adaptations to exercise and psychological factors related to fitness and exercise programs
- To assist students in comprehension and applying basic biomechanical principles
Prerequisite for Major Courses
- Human Anatomy and Physiology I
- Human Anatomy and Physiology II
Program Outline
Students are required to successfully earn 65.0 credit hours, before they may receive their Associate of Science in Sports Medicine and Fitness Technology.
*An Associate of Science Degree is known as a terminal degree, and it is not transferable.
