Program Description
Kieser University's Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapist Assistant gives students the ability to find employment as licensed health care workers in the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. A Physical Therapist Assistant responsibilities will include helping the management of arthritis, amputation, fractures, cerebrovascular accident (stroke), spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, wounds, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, cardiac and pulmonary pathology, sport injuries, work injuries and other types of injuries and/or pathologies.
Program objectives

Implement treatment programs and participate in patient education as supervised by a physical therapist; Competently perform data collection skills needed for a plan of care; Effective verbal and written communication with healthcare team members and patients; and demonstrate a commitment to learning.
Prerequisite for Major Courses
Account of good health signed by student, background check and drug screening when appropriate; Completion of general education courses (grade of "C" or higher in each course); Collective grade average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
