Program Description
Kieser University offers an Associate of Science degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology so that students can succeed in the use of radioactive material to visualize, diagnose and treat pathology through accurate use of purposeful equipment and techniques. The program is designed to provide students with the abilities to attend to patients, extract and evaluate data from patient records, perform dose calculations, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, perform in-vivo and in-vitro diagnostic studies and perform related quality control and quality assurance procedures.
Inclusive courses focus on various matters such as radiation safety, storage and disposal of radioactive materials and inventory and control of radiopharmacology. The program offers the begining lectures in positron imaging tomography (PET). Graduates can certification examinations given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) and the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).

- Students enhance their critical thinking skills and can communicate articulately
- Students learn to demonstrate compassion when dealing with the patients while working as a team in the healthcare facility
- Students are capable of maintaining employment in nuclear medicine technology
Prerequisite for Major Courses
- Proof of good health must be signed by the student
- A background check and drug screening are necessary when requested
- General education courses (grade of "C" or better in each course required) must be completed
- The total GPA should be at least a 3.0 on a scale of 4.0

An Associate of Science degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology is comprised of a total of 90.0 credit hours.
The following is the list of requirements for completing this program.
A minimum "C" grade is required in each course in the Nuclear Medicine Technology major- (each course is a prerequisite for the course that follows).
An Associate of Science Degree is recognized as a terminal degree and is nontransferable.
