Program Description

Kieser University's Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technician teaches students the role of a member of a medical laboratory team, so that he may function effectively within the team. Upon completing the program, graduates will possess skills to perform laboratory tests in accordance with standardized laboratory practices in clinical chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, clinical microbiology, immunohematology and serology/immunology.

Objetives of the program

In order to meet Kieser University's mission and objectives these objectives were formulated:

  • To develop a student's ability to perform proficiently on laboratory testing procedures
  • To develop a student's ability to think critically and communicate effectively
  • To prepare students for entry-level employment in clinical and reference laboratories or physician's offices as medical laboratory technicians

Prerequisite for Major Courses

A record proving good health must be signed by the student and provided prior.

  • You will be required to provide a statement of good health, as well as pass a background check and drug screening, when applicable.
  • A grade average of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 should be achieved in General education courses.

Program Outline:

A student must earn 85.0 credit hours to be eligible to receive an Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technician.

* An Associate of Science Degree is final, and it is not able to be transferred.
