Program Description
Kieser University's Associate of Science degree in Medical Assisting allows students to achieve the performances involved with medical assisting duties as long as they are under direction of a physician/practitioner.
These duties can include
- Preparing examination rooms
- Taking vital signs
- Assisting in minor surgical procedures
- Giving injections
- Performing venipuncture
- Assisting in laboratory operations
- Taking x-rays
- Administering electrocardiograms
- Administrative capacity
- Communicating with patients
- Maintaining patient records
- Handling the Billing Processes
- Scheduling appointments
- Ordering supplies
- Processing insurance claims

An Associate of Science degree in Medical Assisting consists of a total of 60.5 credit hours.
